Matthew 24:36-51
When you're hunting or fishing what do you do? Well, if you said "watch" you are absolutely right.
When we are hunting or fishing you do not know when a deer will be coming your way or when a fish will bite your hook, but you're constantly observing and watching for when it might happen, so... what? So you will be ready! On the last day of gun season last year (2023) I was hunting, and I was praying for a deer so I could put some meat in the freezer. Not long after two does ran unexpectedly out of the corn to my right. I wasn't ready! They promptly ran back into the corn. Well, I got ready anyway just in case, and to my delight one ran back out. I killed a nice 150lb. doe. In many ways Christ coming is the same way many people will ignore getting ready for Christ's coming but then there are those who prepare. Verse 42 states "Watch, for ye know not the hour your Lord doth come."
