Keep Growing

 

I cleared an area of our woods this year to plant a food plot in. Now I haven’t planted seeds but what would you expect when I do plant the seeds. If you said for them to grow. You're right. As Christians God expects the same of us.

Ephesians 2:19-22 says. We are no longer strangers of God. We talk with Him and He hears us. We walk with Him and He with us! The verse states we are fitly framed, God doesn't want us to wither and die. He wants us to take root and bear fruit for Him. Ephesians 4:15-32 says God wants us to grow in Him. He wants us to be a new person no longer having a desire to do the things we used to do. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.

Don't Forget to Load

                                 

Imagine, opening day of gun season: you are perched 20 feet above the ground. The buck you’ve been watching since August, a 10 point, is standing 25 yards away. You slowly raise your rifle to your shoulder, you get the buck in good focus, and you slowly squeeze the trigger. Click. The gun doesn't fire, the deer runs off, and you are left wondering, “Why did I not check this earlier!? “You forgot to load.

 In some ways life is the same way. Some people are so busy ‘getting hunting gear together’ and ‘setting up tree stands’ that they forget or just ignore getting the things that are most important done. John 3:16 and 17 says, “For God so loved the world that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.” I greatly encourage you to load your chamber of salvation today. God's Word says now is the expected time. Today is the day of Salvation. If you’ve hunted very much you know there's going to be a time when you miss your target or fall short. As humans we fall short of being perfect so we cannot go to Heaven. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” I encourage you to load the "bullet" of salvation today so when your moment of truth arrives you will be ready.
